Bharti Airtel Limited has announced an expansion of its collaboration with Nokia to enhance its 5G service delivery. This partnership involves deploying Nokia’s Packet Core appliance-based and Fixed Wireless Access solutions, aimed at improving network experiences for Airtel’s 4G and 5G customers. The integration of 5G and 4G technologies into a unified server system will allow Airtel to optimize its network operations and reduce costs.

The collaboration will also leverage Nokia’s automation framework to enable zero-touch service launches and efficient lifecycle management, further enhancing service delivery speed. Airtel’s CTO, Randeep Sekhon, highlighted the critical improvements in network quality and reliability, stating, “Nokia’s innovative Packet Core deployment architecture enables critical changes to our network quality and reliability for meeting the fast-rising growth in customer data requirements.” This multi-year deal spans most of Airtel’s service regions in India, focusing on network automation and the use of GenAI for service orchestration. Nokia’s solutions will provide Airtel with increased flexibility to support diverse business models and create new revenue streams, while also expanding capacity for home broadband and enterprise-critical services.
