TCS partners with IBM for enterprise transformation

Information technology giant, Tata Consultancy Services announced on Thursday that it is partnering with IBM and expanding their global alliance in a bid to help clients accelerate their digital and cognitive enterprise transformations to IBM public cloud.

As part of this partnership, TCS will establish an IBM Enterprise Cloud Architecture Unit, which will include technical professionals from both the companies. The duo then plan to co-develop solutions designed to help clients migrate workloads across applications, analytics, data estate and platforms using IBM Cloud Paks.

Speaking on the collaboration, Raman Venkatraman, Vice President and Global Head of HiTech & Professional Services Industry Unit at TCS stated that the company is investing in an alliance with IBM to co-create accelerators and other assets to further enhance the speed to market its customers’ modernisation initiatives and drive transformation to become cognitive ready enterprises, leveraging the new IBM public cloud ecosystem.

Major IT firms in the country such as Infosys Ltd, Wipro Ltd and TCS have been strengthening their cloud offerings by forming joint ventures (JVs) with global platform providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure and IBM Cloud, in order to grow their team of specialists in specific cloud platforms organically.

The stock of TCS closed at Rs 2,037.05, down by 0.52 per cent or Rs 10.70 per share, at 3 pm on Thursday. Its 52-week high is recorded at Rs 2,296 and the 52-week low is Rs 1,504.40 on BSE.
