Tata Motors: Jaguar Land Rover wholesale numbers show growth
The company's premium range of cars, which contribute majorly to its revenues, registered a 6 per cent YoY growth in October 2018, said a company release reporting Tata Motor's global wholesale figures.
The group's global wholesales volumes in October 2018, including Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), were 1,09,597 units, up by 6 per cent as against October 2017. While global wholesales numbers for Tata Motors’ commercial vehicles and Tata Daewoo range in October 2018 stood at 44,380 units, up by 19 per cent, as against October 2017.
In terms of global wholesales for all passenger vehicles, in October 2018 65,217 units were sold, which is a dip of 2 per cent, as against October 2017.
JLR global wholesales volumes including Chery JLR (CJLR) were 46,766 vehicles, of which CJLR sales were 2,385 units. Jaguar wholesales for October 2018 were 13,373 units, while Land Rover wholesales for the month were 33,393 units.
However, as reported earlier on November 9, retail sales of JLR in October 2018, were down 4.6 per cent YoY at 44,282 units. This dip in retail sales was due to a 49.0 per cent drop in China following tariff changes and trade war escalation with the US. But sales in United Kingdom and North America grew by 46.9 and 24.1 per cent, respectively, for new models Jaguar I-PACE and E-PACE and the newer version of Range Rover and Range Rover Sport.
Meanwhile, the stock of Tata Motor was quoting Rs. 182.15 per share, down by 2.04 per cent on BSE, when the benchmark BSE Sensex was at 34,821.32, marginally up by 8.33 points or 0.02 per cent on Tuesday, at 9:50 hours.
