Tata Motors: Jaguar Land Rover June sales down 9.6 per cent
Tata Motors Limited reported sales numbers of Jaguar Land Rover for the month of June 2019. The retail sales of Jaguar Land Rover were down by 9.6 per cent YoY to 47,060 vehicles.
Retail sales were up in the UK (4.6 per cent) but down in other regions including North America (-9.0 per cent), Europe (-11.7 per cent), China (-12.3 per cent) and in Overseas markets (-18.6 per cent), reflecting generally weak industry conditions. While China sales remained down YoY in June, sales there were up 23.1 per cent from May. Jaguar Land Rover UK sales set a new record for June, despite the industry being down 4.9 per cent.
Retail sales of the all-electric I-PACE and the new Range Rover Evoque grew, while other models were impacted by the weak market conditions. Discovery Sport sales also reflected anticipation of the launch of the new refreshed model.
Jaguar retail sales in June 2019 were 14,933 vehicles, down 8.5 per cent YoY and Land Rover retailed 32,127 vehicles, down 10.1 per cent compared to June 2018. Total retail sales for Q1FY20 were 1,28,615, down 11 .6 per cent compared to the same period last year.
On Wednesday, the stock of Tata Motors opened at Rs. 156.05 per share. During the day, it was down by 4.2 per cent making intraday low of Rs 149.15. It later got closed at Rs. 151.40.
