Stocks to watch: These small-cap stocks will be in focus tomorrow!

Starteck Finance, J Kumar Infraprojects, Rajnandini Metal, Cupid, Gallantt Ispat, GSS Infotech, De Nora India, Hardwyn India, Agro Phos India, Vaxtex Cotfab, and Sumitomo Chemical India made a fresh 52-week high today.

On Wednesday, Indian equity markets bore the brunt of an out of the blue 40 basis point rate hike in repo rates by the Reserve Bank of India. Nifty 50 and Sensex plummeted by 2.29 per cent each, ending the session at 16,677.60 and 55,669.03 respectively.  

BSE Smallcap index plunged 2.11 per cent to close the session at 27,762.59. Top Gainers of the index include Paisalo Digital, Cosmo Films, KIOCL, Future Consumer, J.Kumar Infraprojects and JBM Auto. Top Losers comprise Techno Electric & Enginering, Varroc Engineering, NGL Fine Chem and TV18 Broadcast. 

The following small-cap stocks are likely to be in focus on Thursday, May 5, 2022:    

Wardwizard Innovations & Mobility – The company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Singapore-based renewable energy management consulting firm Sunkonnect. The association is aimed at facilitating a feasibility study and identification of potential partners for the manufacturing of Li-ion (lithium-ion) advanced cells in India.  

OnMobile Global – ONMO, the direct-to-consumer social e-sports mobile gaming platform of the company has announced enabling transactions through Bitcoin for players across the globe. While ONMO users in India can play using real money, users in other parts of the globe will now have the choice of using Bitcoins to pay entry fees for one-on-one battles and daily multiplayer tournaments. 

Cosmo Films – The company has announced that its upcoming board meeting is scheduled for May 9, 2022, in order to consider the issuance of bonus shares while also taking the stock of the audited financial results for the quarter and year ended March 31, 2022. 

Symphony – The company has posted strong financial numbers for the year ended March 31, 2022. The consolidated PBIT stood at Rs 177 crore, up by more than 25 per cent on a YoY basis. International business contributed PBIT of Rs 70 crore, up by more than six times from Rs 11 crore recorded in FY21. The company expects robust performance from international business to continue in the future.  

52-week high stocks – Starteck Finance, J Kumar Infraprojects, Rajnandini Metal, Cupid, Gallantt Ispat, GSS Infotech, De Nora India, Hardwyn India, Agro Phos India, Vaxtex Cotfab, and Sumitomo Chemical India made a fresh 52-week high today.
