Holi celebrations have started early on Dalal Street as the domestic equity bourses Sensex and Nifty at 11.15 am on Thursday, were trading up by 1 per cent higher, as the Federal Reserve hiked the interest rates as per the widespread expectations of the investors.

The Federal Reserve Chair’s positive remarks about the American Economy and its progress have uplifted the spirits of investors all over the world. The crude oil prices also dropped below USD 100 per barrel almost after 3 weeks. Crude oil is trading at $99.9 per barrel. Also, the FIIs have reversed the trend and are now seeing buying into the equities in which they previously sold off. 

The Sensex was at 56,556.27 up by 779.42 points or 1.40 per cent, while Nifty was at 16,892.00, up by 229 points or 1.37 per cent from the last trading session.           

On the BSE, 2,281 shares have advanced, 902 shares declined, whereas 138 shares are unchanged.           

The top five gainers in the Nifty 50 pack are Titan Company, HDFC Ltd, Eicher Motors, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Asian Paints. Meanwhile, the top five stocks pulling down the index are IOC, ONGC, Cipla, HCL Technologies, and Britannia Industries.      

BSE Smallcap index is trading at 27,324.02, up by 1.35 per cent. The top five gainers are RPG Life Sciences, Seamec, IFB Industries, Control Print, and NXT Digital. Each of these stocks gained more than 15 per cent. Similarly, the top five stocks pulling the index down include GTPL Hathway, Future Enterprises, Future Consumer, Future Retail, and Future Lifestyle and Fashions. 

On the sectoral front, BSE Finance, BSE Private Bank, BSE Realty, BSE CDGS are trading higher by more than 2 per cent. 

 Following is the list of low-priced stocks that made a fresh 52-week high on Thursday. Keep a close eye on these counters for the upcoming sessions.
