Stocks below Rs 100: Only buyers seen in these scrips on July 28
The top market movers in terms of volume today are Bajaj twins i.e. Bajaj Finserv & Bajaj Finance, followed by Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Adani Power, Infosys, Zomato, and Tanla Platforms.
At 10.30 am on Thursday, the headline equity indices, i.e. Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading higher by almost a per cent each, despite the FED rate hikes.
Federal Reserve on Wednesday enacted its second consecutive 0.75 percentage point interest rate increase, taking its benchmark rate to a range of 2.25 per cent-2.5 per cent.
The US markets as well as the Asia-Pacific markets inched higher as Federal Reserve kept economists guessing about its next move at the September meeting, saying it would depend heavily on the data.
The US stock futures are exhibiting a bearish trend after the big Fed Rally. Dow Jones index rose by 1.37 per cent whereas S&P 500 and the tech-heavy Nasdaq also jumped 2.63 per cent & 4.06 per cent, respectively.
The shares in Asia-Pacific markets are trading higher as Japan’s Nikkei index rose by 0.22 per cent due to a rally in the US markets while Shanghai Composite index also gained 0.57 per cent. Besides, Hang Seng index fell 0.56 per cent.
Sensex is trading at 56,552.87, up by 736.55 points or 1.32 per cent while Nifty 50 is trading at 16,839.85, up by 198.05 points or 1.19 per cent. Nifty Bank is up by 1.29 per cent at the 37,257.10 level.
The FIIs sold equity worth Rs 436.81 crore on Wednesday (July 27) while the DIIs bought equity worth Rs 712.03 crore.
The Top Gainers in Nifty 50 pack are Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank, and Infosys. Meanwhile, the Top Losers pulling down the index are Tata Motors, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Bharti Airtel, Coal India, and UltraTech Cement.
BSE Smallcap index is trading at 26,714.45, up by 0.74 per cent. The top gainers in the pack were Novartis India, Control Print, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd, Schaeffler India, and Responsive Industries. Each of these stocks gained more than 6.48 per cent. Similarly, the top losers were Techno Electric & Engineering, SpiceJet, PC Jeweller, Lasa Supergenerics, and Steel Exchange India.
On the sectoral front, only BSE Auto and BSE Healthcare were trading in the red territory. On the flip side, BSE IT was up by 1.61 per cent while BSE Finance and BSE Private Bank also gained 1.66 per cent & 1.37 per cent, respectively, followed by BSE Realty (up by 1.18 per cent).
