Stocks below Rs 100: Only buyers seen in these scrips on August 29

At 11.30 am on Monday, the headline equity indices, i.e. Sensex and Nifty 50 tanked 1.50 per cent each, eroding all the gains of the past two weeks.  

Meanwhile, the US equity indices plunged over 1,000 points on Friday, reacting to Fed Chairman’s comments on not slowing down the ongoing rate hikes.  

Owing to this, the Asia Pacific markets dipped with Japan’s Nikkei falling 2.53 per cent, Shanghai Composite inching lower by 0.11 per cent, and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index dipping 0.55 per cent.  

The US equity indices such as Dow Jones shredded 1,008 points, almost 3 per cent on Friday while S&P 500 dropped 3.37 per cent. The tech-heavy Nasdaq index also settled lower by almost 4 per cent.  

Sensex is trading at 58,044.94, plunging 788.93 points or 1.34 per cent while Nifty 50 is at 17,327.00, down by 231.90 points or 1.32 per cent. Nifty Bank is trading lower by 1.84 per cent at the 38,269.20 level.  

Besides, India VIX is up by 9.22 per cent today.    

The FIIs immediately sold equity worth Rs 51.12 crore on Friday (August 26) while the DIIs bought equity for a net worth of Rs 453.59 crore.    

The Top Gainers in Nifty 50 pack are Hindustan Unilever, Tata Consumer Products, Britannia Industries, Nestle India, and Maruti Suzuki. Meanwhile, the Top Losers pulling down the index are Tech Mahindra, Infosys, HCL Technologies, Wipro, and TCS.  

BSE Smallcap index is trading at 28,164.06, down by 0.89 per cent. The top gainers in the pack were Max India (18.42 per cent), Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders (11.11 per cent), NELCO (10 per cent), Dhanvarsha Finvest (8.9 per cent), and WPIL (8.66 per cent).  

The bloodbath on the sectoral front is led by the stocks of IT, metal, realty, financial services, and private banks. Only FMCG, oil & gas, and energy sector stocks are seen trading flat.
