Stocks approaching Ex-date this week
Other than results, the other important thing that investors watch out for during the earnings season are dividends or bonus shares. Read on to know which stocks will be on investor radar this week.
With the results announcement, the company’s board consider the payment of dividends to shareholders. Dividends are a means of distributing the company’s profits among the shareholders. Most listed companies that are fundamentally strong and well-governed tend to payout dividends regularly. Whenever a dividend is announced, the company also furnishes ex-dividend and record date. These dates are particularly important for investors as they help them decide if and when they should book profit after results declaration.
An ex-dividend date for a stock is usually set one business day before the record date. If you purchase a stock on its ex-dividend date or after, you will not receive the next dividend payment. Instead, the seller gets the dividend. If you purchase before the ex-dividend date, you get the dividend.
Here are companies that are expected to witness investor interest as they near the Ex-date for their recently announced dividends or bonus shares.
