Stock watch: Smallcap gainers trading near 52 week-high
Nifty Smallcap 250 closed with a gain of 0.7 per cent against the Nifty 50 and Nifty Midcap closing almost flat.
The equity market closed on a flat note today. Nevertheless, the broader market closed with gains. In fact, in the broader market, it was the smallcap index that gained the most. From its recent low, Nifty Smallcap 250 index is up by 13 per cent. It has moved up from 9200 levels to the current 10400 levels. Even in today’s trade Nifty Smallcap 250 closed with a gain of 0.7 per cent against the Nifty 50 and Nifty Midcap closing almost flat. The advance-decline for the Smallcap 250 index remained on the positive side and 136 stocks closed in green compared to 110 in red and four unchanged.
Many stocks in this index gained today and are also trading their 52-week high.
