SRF Limited to expand facility in Thailand
The company's board as approved setting-up of an additional bi-axially oriented polyethylene terephthalate (BOPET) film line and resin plant in Thailand at a total cost of US$ 60 million (Rs. 410 crore).
The new facility will be built at SRF Industries (Thailand) Limited's location in Rayong, Thailand, which is the wholly-owned subsidiary of the company. The plant will be operational by 2020 adding a capacity of 40,000 metric tonnes per annum. Best-in-class 10.6m wide Dornier makeline and direct film casting equipment will be installed in the facility.
The plant will strengthen the company's presence in South East Asia and reduce production lead-times. With this investment of US$ 60 million, SRF will position itself among the top 10 polyester film manufacturer in the world.
At 9:41 hours, the stock of SRF Limited was quoting Rs. 1,768.70 per share, up by Rs. 41.10 or 2.38 per cent on Tuesday, while the benchmark index BSE Sensex was at 36,150.79, up by 216.07 points or 0.60 per cent.
