SJVN receives repeat order in Satluj basin
The company has received a fresh order from the state government of Himachal Pradesh allotting the Jangi-Thopan-Powari (780 MW) project on BOOT basis.
SJVN will complete the project on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer Basis (BOOT). The company will operate the project for a period of 70 years post its completion.
The 780 megawatt Jangi-Thopan-Powari project will increase SJVN's portfolio of projects to around 6,800 megawatt project. The project lies in the upstream of the company's Nathpa Jhakri project. The company will benefit from its vast experience of executing big projects in the Sutlej river basin.
SJVN Limited is a Miniratna CPSU under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. The company is engaged in the generation and sale of power. The company is a joint venture between Government of India and Government of Himachal Pradesh.
At 15:11 hours, the stock of SJVN Limited was quoting Rs. 27.25 per share, down by 0.55 per cent on NSE. Meanwhile, the benchmark indices were upbeat with BSE Sensex at 35,371.76, up by 390.74 points or 1.12 per cent, while Nifty50 was at 10,626.90, up by 100.15 or 0.95 per cent on Monday.
