Shares below Rs 100: Only buyers were seen in these stocks on December 20

The BSE Sensex Index made a new 52-week high of 85,978.25 on September 27, 2024 and the NSE Nifty-50 Index made a new 52-week high of 26,277.35 on September 27, 2024.

The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty-50 indices are trading in red on Friday with the Sensex down 1.49 per cent at 78,049 and the Nifty-50 plunged 1.53 per cent at 23,587. About 1,045 shares have advanced, 2,950 shares have declined and 90 shares were unchanged on BSE. The BSE Sensex Index made a new 52-week high of 85,978.25 on September 27, 2024 and the NSE Nifty-50 Index made a new 52-week high of 26,277.35 on September 27, 2024.

The broader markets were in the red territory, with the BSE Mid-Cap Index down 2.43 per cent and the BSE Small-Cap Index down 2.11 per cent. The top mid-cap gainers were General Insurance Corporation of India, The New India Assurance Company Ltd and Go Digit General Insurance Ltd. In contrast, the top small-cap gainers are Aegis Logistics Ltd, Fairchem Organics Ltd and Prataap Snacks Ltd.

On the sectoral front, all the indices were trading in red with the BSE Consumer Discretionary Index; BSE Industrials Index; BSE IT Index; BSE Telecommunication Index, BSE Realty Index and BSE Power Index being the Top Gainers which plunged over 2 per cent each.

As of December 20, 2024, the market capitalisation of BSE-listed companies was approximately Rs 4.41 lakh crore or USD 5.18 trillion. On the same day, 229 stocks hit a 52-week high, while 68 stocks touched a 52-week low.
