Sensex zooms by 226 points; UltraTech, TechM, L&T lead the rally

In this week, for the second consecutive day, Sensex closed above 200 points today. While Sensex closed at 41,613.19 levels, up by 0.55 per cent on Friday, Nifty closed the trading session at 12,248.25 levels, up by 0.56 per cent.

The top five gainers on S&P BSE Sensex were: UltraTech Cement-up by 2.47 per cent, Tech Mahindra-up by 2.43 per cent, L&T-up by 2.03 per cent, Axis Bank-up by 2.01 per cent and Kotak Bank-up by 1.98 per cent.

S&P BSE small-cap gained 0.50 per cent and managed to close at 14,845.96 levels, while, S&P BSE mid-cap inched up by 0.77 per cent and closed at 15,822.54 levels. The two star performers of BSE small-cap were: SADHNANIQ-up by 19.98 per cent and GMM-up by 17.19 per cent.

Among the sectoral indices, S&P BSE Capital goods, S&P BSE Consumer durables and S&P BSE Basic materials were the top three sectors, clocking gain up to 1.50 per cent, 1.33 per cent and 1.04 per cent, respectively.
