Sensex tumbles by more than 500 points; Majesco, OnMobile Global & Tata Steel LP lock in upper circuit
On Thursday, bears continued to dominate the Indian stock markets as Sensex fell by more than 500 points or 1 per cent at around 46,904.20 levels. In spite of this, various stocks raced against the trend to report gains and locked in at their respective upper circuits.
In the A-Group stocks such as Tata Steel Long Products Ltd, Thomas Cook (India), Yaarii Digital Integrated Services and Majesco surged by around 5 per cent each to lock in at their respective upper circuits. Vakrangee, BSE 500 stock, declined by 5 per cent and locked in at its lower circuit.
Looking at the Circuit Filter summary, it can be seen that out of the total 427 stocks that touched their respective upper or lower circuits, 215 locked in upper circuits while 212 locked in their lower circuits thus, portraying mixed emotions of investors on Thursday.
