Sensex, Nifty rally; IndusInd Bank zooms 12.41 per cent
On Thursday, Sensex gained more than 629 points or 1.65 per cent to close at 38,697.05 while Nifty closed at 11,416.95, up by 169.40 points or 1.51 per cent.
Banking stocks became the stars of today’s session as Bankex rallied by 3.73 per cent.
IndusInd Bank sizzled by more than 12 per cent, RBL gained 4.74 per cent, Bandhan Bank was up by 4.57 per cent, Axis Bank gained by 4.44 per cent, Federal Bank and ICICI Bank zoomed by more than 4 per cent each.
Airline stocks and hotel stocks were seen gaining in today's session while the auto stocks gained momentum post solid auto sales numbers.
European markets gained on Thursday as FTSE was up by 0.77 per cent and CAC 40 rose by 0.55 per cent while German DAX traded flat.
Meanwhile, Asian markets were mixed with Nikkei trading flat and Shanghai Composite slipping by 0.20 per cent whereas, Hang Seng gained by 0.79 per cent.
All the sectoral indices on BSE were trading in green except for BSE Consumer Durables.
Sensex gainers included IndusInd Bank that went up by 12.41 per cent, Bajaj Finance increased by 5.09 per cent, Axis Bank gained by 4.44 per cent, ICICI Bank rose by 4.02 per cent, Tech Mahindra surged by 3.91 per cent, etc.
Sensex losers consisted of ITC, which went down by 0.52 per cent, NTPC fell by 0.47 per cent, Reliance Industries plunged 0.39 per cent, Titan Company declined by 0.26 per cent, ONGC decreased by 0.22 per cent, etc.
BSE Small-Cap index was up by 0.69 per cent while BSE Mid-Cap index was up by 0.73 per cent.
