SBI tops list of stocks that lost maximum of market capitalisation since January 2020
Sensex made its all-time high in January 2020 when it touched 42,273.87 levels. At that time, SBI was trading at Rs 313.95 per share.
Now, when Sensex is again close to its all-time high levels, SBI is trading at Rs 203.30 per share. The stock is down by more than 35 per cent since the markets made all-time highs.
An interesting fact to note here is that in absolute terms, SBI has lost more market capitalisation than any other listed stock on bourses. This shows how bearish investors have been on the counter in 2020.
SBI lost around a whopping Rs 1,10,040 crore in its market capitalisation since markets made an all-time high. This loss is despite the gains in market capitalisation of Rs 2,989.75 crore since September 28, when banks staged a smart recovery. Long lists of top market cap losers include names such as Bajaj Finserv, L&T, ONGC, Axis Bank, HDFC, ICICI Bank, and ITC.
