Saturday Budget Live Session - Budget 2025: Markets to Stay Open on February 01
This is not the first time markets have stayed open on a Saturday for a Budget session
The Union Budget 2025 will be unveiled on Saturday, February 01, 2025. Although markets are generally closed on weekends, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) has confirmed that trading will take place to accommodate market activities related to Budget announcements.
This is not the first time markets have stayed open on a Saturday for a Budget session. In 2015, trading was conducted when the Budget was presented on February 28 (Saturday). However, in 2016-2017, the Saturday Budget presentation on February 27 did not involve trading activity.

Capital Market Segment
- Pre-Open Session: 09:00 AM to 09:08 AM
- Normal Trading: 09:15 AM to 03:30 PM
- Block Deals & Call Auctions: Scheduled for high trading volumes due to Budget news.
Futures & Options (F&O) Segment
- Market Hours: 09:15 AM to 03:30 PM
- Trade Modifications: Allowed until 04:15 PM
Commodity Derivatives Segment
- Market Hours: 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM
- Trade Modifications: Allowed until 05:15 PM
