Reliance Infra bags contract for airport in Gujarat
Reliance Infrastructure Limited informed that it has received Letter of Acceptance (LOA) for construction of airport in Rajkot, Gujarat.
The company will execute construction of greenfield airport in Hirasar, which is located in the Rajkot district of Gujarat. The EPC contract will include detailed designing, engineering, procurement and construction of runway, basic strips, turning pads, taxiways, apron, perimeter and other roads, earthwork in cut/fill and grading, drainage system, related retaining structures, fire station, MT pool, fire pit, cooling pit, ARP and associated approaches, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of airfield ground lighting system, visual aids for navigation and bird hazard reduction etc.
The bidding process included some major names in the EPS industry such as Afcons and L&T etc. The airport is to be completed within 30 months from the date of issue of Letter of Award (LoA). The total order is worth Rs. 648 crore.
Reacting positively to the news, the stock touched its intraday high of Rs. 133.20 per share. The stock closed at Rs.130.30 per share, up by 4 per cent on BSE. Benchmark index BSE Sensex closed at 36442.54, higher by 378.79 points.
