Q3FY19: Sun TV Network PAT jumps 32 per cent
Television broadcaster Sun TV Network reported a net profit of Rs. 351.33 crore for the quarter ended December 2018, up 32 per cent YoY from Rs. 266.97 crore in Q3FY18.
The company’s revenue rose to Rs. 904.45 crore in the quarter ended December 2018 as against Rs. 683.28 crore, registering a 32 per cent growth YoY. The company’s profit before tax came in at Rs. 542 crore as against Rs. 406.63 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
The company’s ad revenue rose 13 per cent during the quarter to Rs. 381.4 crore as against Rs. 338 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The company reported subscription revenue growth of 24 per cent to Rs. 349.6 crore from Rs. 281.82 crore in Q3FY18.
Sun TV Network is part of the Sun Group. Sun Group currently owns and operates 33 TV channels across four South Indian languages namely Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malyalam. Sun Group also owns Hyderabad-based IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad since 2012. The group’s flagship channel Sun TV was the first fully privately owned Tamil channel in India.
On Monday, Sun TV was trading at Rs. 571.15 per share, up 9.72 per cent on the BSE.
