Q2CY20: Varun Beverages net profit declines by 64.7 per cent YoY
Varun Beverages Ltd., the second largest bottling company of PepsiCo's beverages in the world outside the United States announced its quarterly results on August 4, 2020. The company posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 142.979 crore for Q2CY20, which declined by 64.7 per cent, as compared to Q2CY19 when it reported Rs 404.99 crore.
The consolidated net sales reported in Q2CY20 came in at Rs 1,665.69 crore, which declined by 41.58 per cent YoY from Rs 2,851.459 crore in Q2CY19. At EBITDA level, the company stood at Rs 377.7 crore in Q2CY20 that decreased by 52.06 per cent YoY. For Q2CY19, it posted an EBITDA of Rs 787.88 crore.
EBITDA margin as of Q2CY20 was at 22.68 per cent that declined by 4.95 per cent YoY. The net profit margin in Q2CY20 came in at 8.58 per cent, which declined by 5.62 per cent YoY. The net profit margin in Q2CY19 was at 14.2 per cent. The favourable input and focus on reducing non-essential cost helped the company to report healthy margins.
