Q1FY21 results: Ruchi Soya Industries net profit declines by 12.49 per cent YoY

Patanjali Group firm Ruchi Soya Industries Limited announced its Q1FY21 results on Aug 19, 2020. The company reported net sales of Rs 3043.08 crore in Q1FY21, which declined by 2.22 per cent YoY from Rs 3112.32 crore in Q1FY20.

The company posted EBITDA of Rs 123.49 crore in Q1FY21 that rose by  232.05 per cent YoY. For Q1FY20, it had posted EBITDA of Rs 37.19 crore. EBITDA margin as of Q1FY21 was at 4.06 per cent that rose  by 2.87 per cent YoY. EBITDA margin for Q1FY20 was 1.19 per cent.

The net profit in Q1FY21 came in at Rs 12.26 crore, which declined by 12.49 per cent, as compared to Q1FY20, when it reported a profit of Rs 14.01 crore. The net profit margin in Q1FY21 came in at 0.4 per cent, which declined by 5bps YoY. The net profit margin for Q1FY20 was 0.45 per cent.

"Acharya Balkrishna has resigned from the office of Managing Director of the company with effect from August 18, 2020, due to his pre-occupation. The Board of Directors has accepted his resignation," the filing said.

On Thursday, the share price of the company at 11.13am was trading at Rs700, down by 2.76 per cent.
