Q1FY19 Result: BPL recovers on qoq basis
BPL reported its results for the quarter ended June 30, 2018 on Monday.
The company’s standalone revenue for the quarter came in at Rs. 21.1 crore as against Rs. 22.53 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, registering 6.3 per cent decline.
EBITDA for the quarter fell by 70.4 per cent yoy to Rs. 0.47 crore with a corresponding margin contraction of 483 bps. EBITDA margin for the quarter stood at 2.2 per cent as against 7.1 per cent in the corresponding quarter last year.
The PAT for the quarter came in at Rs. 0.23 crore as against Rs. 0.95 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, a decline of 75.8 per cent. However, on qoq basis, the company has witnessed recovery in bottomline, as a result of which it registered a profit as against a net loss of Rs. 13 crore in the previous quarter Q4FY18.
On Tuesday, the stock opened at Rs. 58.40 per share and dropped by 6 per cent and made an intraday low of Rs. 56.20, on the BSE.
BPL operates in the electronics industry and is engaged in the manufacture and trading of consumer durable goods such as colour televisions, washing machines, refrigerators, microwave ovens, computer monitors, medical technology and other home appliances products.
