PVR ascends post launching multiplex in Vellore
PVR on Thursday announced the launch of a 5 screen multiplex at Vellore, Tamil Nadu.
The multiplex is spread across an area of 24,043 square feet. With this multiplex, PVR has reached a screen count of 22 screens in 4 properties in Tamil Nadu, strengthening its presence in South India to 160 screens in 24 properties.
The film exhibition company now operates the largest multiplex network in the country with 630 screens at 135 properties in 52 cities. The company further added that the property falls in line with its expansion plans to propagate world-class cinema viewing in tier-II cities.
At 12:15 hours, PVR was trading at Rs. 1,340 per share, up Rs. 30.70 or 2.34 per cent on BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 1,326.15 and touched an intraday high of Rs. 1,344.85 per share on NSE. The scrip has a 52-week high of Rs. 1,603.85 and a 52-week low of Rs. 1,145 per share on BSE. The stock attracted a trading volume of 5835 shares on BSE on Thursday.
