Realty major Prestige Estates posted a surge of 21 per cent in its net profit for the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2018.

The PAT for the quarter came in at Rs. 9.37 crore, yoy increase of 15.7 per cent. This was due to a sharp decline in effective tax rate to 5 per cent from 32 per cent in the corresponding quarter last year.

In a blow to metals and mining company Vedanta, according to reports, the deputy chief minister of Tamil Nadu O Panneerselvam has asserted that the government will order permanent shut down of the company’s Sterlite copper plant.
