Engineering and construction mammoth, Larsen & Toubro's construction arm has won orders worth Rs. 1,296 crore.

Bharti Airtel has announced its strategic partnership with Telecom Egypt, Egypt’s first integrated telecom operator. Through this partnership, Airtel will get IRUs (Indefeasible Right of Use) on the Middle East North Africa Submarine Cable (MENA cable) and TE North Cable Systems. Additionally, it will also take large capacities on two new state-of-the-art cable systems (SMW5 and AAE1) on a long-term basis.

Great Eastern Shipping, the second largest shipping company by market capitalisation as recently signed a contract to purchase secondhand gas carrier. The carrier is very large of nearly 81,605 cbm and that the 2006 built vessel is likely to join GE Shipping’s fleet in the second quarter of FY19.

Alembic Pharmaceuticals has received a tentative approval from the US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for Bimatoprost Ophthalmic Solution, 0.03 per cent.

The orders comprise of providing necessary infrastructure facilities like furniture, additional class rooms including library rooms and electrical facilities in all the government schools in five districts.

Mercator Limited has bagged Maintenance Dredging Contract of Rs. 26.39 crore from Goa Naval. The contract is for block year 2018-20, 50 per cent of the project is to be completed in FY 2019 and the remaining in the FY 2020.

The jump in volume was primarily due to the investment in brands and widening the distribution network through focus on direct reach, rural market and weak states.

The markets on August 6, 2018 opened gap up. BSE Sensex is trading at 37,736.54, up by 180.38 points and the Nifty is trading at 11,398.70, up by 37.90 points.
