In the previous trading sessions, markets celebrated the phase 1 of the trade deal but that did not last long as the markets gave away most of its gains. As we enter the final trading session of the week, the SGX Nifty is trading flat and is likely to be cautious ahead of the weekend.

On Thursday Wockhardt announced that the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) has approved two of its new antibiotics, EMROK (IV) and EMROK-O for acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections, including diabetic foot infections and concurrent bacteraemia, thereby, becoming the first Indian company to achieve approval for newly-discovered antibiotics.

On Thursday, Alphageo announced that it has received Notification of Award (NOA) from the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) for two contracts worth Rs 43.23 crore and Rs 68.75 crore.

The broader indices ended in green; the BSE mid-cap index rose 0.78 per cent, while small-cap index was up by 0.78 per cent.

The shares of Jet Airways (India) hit lower circuit on January 16, 2020 (Thursday) amidst reports that the Indian multi-industry, Hinduja Group, which had expressed their interest of investing in this airline earlier, has now backed out on the grounds that it found ‘no value’ in the company.

The market opened flat on 16th January. The previous day witnessed  the Sensex going down by 79.90 points to end at 41,872.73  and the Nifty was down by 19 points to close at 12,343.30.
