Tata Motors, one of India’s largest automobile company, announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), is opening a new plant worth around $1.6 billion in Slovakia

The net interest income (NII) for Q2FY19 came in at Rs. 2417.55 crore as against Rs. 1885.09 crore as compared to the corresponding quarter last year, an increase of 28.2 per cent. Also, the net interest margin (NIM) stood at 3.3 per cent as against 3.7 per cent for Q2FY18.

The company beat street expectations with a consolidated net profit of Rs. 2,087 crore as compared to Rs. 836 crore in Q2FY18, up by 148 per cent.

The company’s net loss during the quarter narrowed marginally to Rs. 1.5 crore from loss of Rs. 1.7 crore in corresponding quarter of last year.

Avantel standalone revenue for the quarter came in at Rs. 10.07 crore, registering 13.7 per cent yoy decline.

The company’s consolidated Q2 new loss was narrowed to Rs. 33 crore from a net loss of Rs. 455.6 crore accrued in Q2FY18. The revenue of the company has gone up by 43 per cent and came in at Rs 1,084.3 crore versus Rs 754.7 crore.

In terms of volumes, total sales volume for the quarter stood at 1125KT, an increase of 5.8 per cent YoY. This volume growth was led by pick-up in construction activities as availability of construction material improved in most parts of central India, especially in Uttar Pradesh.
