The Union Budget 2019 offered a helping hand to the Animal Husbandry and Fisheries sector. The government announced increased allocation for Rashtriya Gokul Mission and 2 per cent interest subvention for farmers engaged in these sectors. 

FM Piyush Goyal in his interim budget speech has allowed individuals to invest in two houses to gain benefits from roll-over capital gains under Section 54 of the Income Tax Act. Also, the FM has exempted individuals from paying tax on notional rental income for the second vacant home.

In the interim budget of 2019 the government fixed the fiscal deficit at 3.4 per cent for FY20 and the Current Account Deficit is expected at 2.5 per cent of the GDP. The fiscal deficit slippage is owing to the newly announced farm package.
