In the latest update for the sugar sector, we saw the sugar futures hit multi year high in the US markets. With production cut expected in Brazil the prices may remain high and the sugar stocks were seen rallying this week again.

The company reported its earnings today wherein, it registered a more than two-fold jump in its total income at Rs 1,485 crore in Q1FY22 as against Rs 714 crore in Q1FY21. Meanwhile, its consolidated profit before tax stood at Rs 274.6 crore as against Rs 13.24 crore in Q1FY21.

In today's trading session, BSE Sensex zoomed 318.05 points or 0.58 per cent to end at 54,843.98 levels whereas Nifty rallied 82 points or 0.5 per cent to settle at 16,364 levels.

BSE Sensex gained 0.58 per cent while BSE SmallCap Index is up by 1.97 per cent on Thursday on closing basis.
