Tuesday was again filled with volatility as investors adopted the 'sell-on-rally and buy-on-dip' approaches. Sensex closed up by 280.15 points or by 0.56 per cent at 50,051.44 levels while Nifty gained 78.35 points or 0.53 per cent to settle at 14,814.75 levels.

Cues from the global markets: European stock markets were trading lower as concerns over the third wave of COVID-19 infections in the region upset sentiments of the market participants.
