Mindtree was the top performing IT stock as it gained by more than 25 per cent followed by Tech Mahindra (+18 per cent) and TCS (+15 per cent) when Nifty climbed from 16k to 17k.

Bajaj Finserv is the top Nifty gainer, jumping higher by more than 19 per cent, during this period between August 3 to August 31 where the Nifty jumped from 16k to 17k. Bajaj Finance gained by more than 18 per cent during the similar period.

In the broader markets, the small-cap and mid-cap indices outperformed by ending on a higher side. On the sectoral front, the metal & IT indices witnessed a drag whereas capital goods, power, and realty indices ended in the green.
