BSE Realty, metal and healthcare stocks were the most upper band hitters. No sector closed in the red today.

Welspun Corp Ltd, engaged in manufacturing steel pipes, has jumped by over 20 per cent to hit the upper circuit and create a fresh 52-week high, from its previous close of Rs 208.75. The stock opened at Rs 09.60 and has made its day high of Rs 250.50, where the trading in stock is halted and which is also its fresh 52-week high. It was today’s top gainer from the A group.

At 2 pm on Friday, the core equity indices i.e., Sensex and Nifty 50 recovered the losses from the last trading session and were trading higher by 2.50 per cent each.

All the sectoral indices on NSE rose with metal, real estate, and auto stocks gaining the most. Besides, Nifty traded just above 16,150 points.

The company targets to reduce debt by Rs 35 crore-Rs 40 crore in FY23, out of which, Rs 9 crore has already been paid in April 2022. 

Due to the global sell-off, the Indian equity markets traded under pressure with Sensex rattling 1,416.30 points or 2.61 per cent ending at 52,792.23 level while Nifty declining 430.90 points or 2.65 per cent at 15,809.40 level.  

Highest put option open interest contract was added at a strike price of 14300 for expiry on May 26. 

BSE Smallcap index tanked 2.29 per cent to end the session at 25,801.04.
