About 897 shares have advanced, 2,464 declined and 113 are unchanged. 

In an otherwise weak market, shares surged more than 3 per cent to a day's high of Rs 1,019.80 per share on the BSE.

The benchmark BSE Sensex fell 578.15 points or 0.95 per cent, to 60,400, while the broader NSE index NIFTY lost 183.10 points or 1.01 per cent, to 17,935.20, on weak economic data from the United States that hinted at a possible recession and downbeat growth outlook from businesses.

The stock has jumped more than 12 per cent in the last 6 months.

At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in red with a loss of 366.84 points or 0.60 per cent.
