Sensex extended further on yesterday's gains  The headline index closed at 59,719.74, up by 0.98 per cent. The healthcare and consumer durables stocks witnessed strong buying interest. BSE Smallcap index recorded gains of 1.01 per cent.  

The following penny stocks are likely to be in focus on Wednesday, September 21, 2022:   

Ankit Metal & Power - Only buyers were seen in the scrip today as it got locked at a 5 per cent upper circuit of Rs 6.30 per share on NSE during the early market hours. The company is engaged in manufacturing iron ore pellets, sponge iron, and re-rolled products with a captive power plant (CPP).  

Excel Realty N Infra – The shares of the company froze at a 5 per cent upper circuit, closing at an intraday high of Rs 9.55 per share on NSE. Incorporated in 2003, the company is engaged in the development of infrastructure facilities, IT-enabled BPO services, and general trading activities. With IT stocks heavily underperforming the broader markets today, this IT stock witnessed strong buyer interest. The company is debt-free and is trading close to 0.5 times its book value.
