Overnight Digest: These small caps will be in focus tomorrow
Bulls dominated Indian equity markets on Wednesday. Frontline indices Nifty 50 and Sensex recorded gains of ~0.87 per cent each, ending the session at 18,212.30 and 61,150.04 respectively. BSE Small-cap index relatively underperformed broader markets by climbing 0.70 per cent i.e. 212.22, closing at 30,646.24.

RattanIndia Enterprises – The company has recently announced that it has operationalized its e-commerce foray by approving an investment of Rs 350 crore in its wholly-owned subsidiary Cocoblu Retail Limited (Cocoblu). Cocoblu is committed to scaling up local micro, small and medium manufacturers and help them build their brands and reach their true potential through digital channels. It seeks to be a dominant seller in multiple categories on these online retail platforms in the country.
This funding will be utilized by Cocoblu to develop its business including the creation of tech-enabled access to consumers for select brand owners/sellers on the platforms of leading e-commerce sites in India. The venture will offer end-to-end solutions to brands and sellers to help them achieve a highly efficient and rapidly scalable model.
Heidelberg Cement India – The company has informed the exchange that it has commissioned a state-of-the-art facility to substitute part of the Fossil Fuels with Alternate Fuels (AF) in cement production. The recently commissioned AF receiving, storage and feeding system built at Narsingarh Clinker unit with an investment of Rs 16 crore, will enable the company to achieve a thermal substitution rate (TSR) of approximately 5 per cent in the first phase and the same will be ramped up gradually to attain double-digit TSR in the coming years.
Aligned to the global vision of HeidelbergCement Group, this project will reduce their carbon footprint by reducing the consumption of conventional fossil fuels and increasing the usage of alternate fuels. This milestone achievement will reduce their CO2 emissions by 42,000 tons per annum.
