Overnight Digest: These small caps will be in focus on Thursday

On Wednesday, headline equity indices Nifty 50 and Sensex closed at 17,221.4 and 57,788.0, recording a fall of 0.60 per cent and 0.57 per cent. BSE Small-cap index also corrected by 0.35 per cent to end the session at 29,244.83.

The following small-cap stocks are likely to be in focus on Thursday:   

Genus Power Infrastructures – The company has recently announced that it has received orders worth Rs 325 crore. These orders are across exports geography and domestic geography. Within domestic geography, orders have been received for smart meters across multiple state electricity boards and gas meters. These orders will be executed over the next 12 months. With these orders, the company has crossed the Rs 1000 crore order book. 

To quote Jitendra Kumar Agarwal, Joint Managing Director, Genus Power Infrastructure from a filing with the exchange, “We are particularly pleased to add orders in the upcoming segment of Gas Meters which will diversify our order book. The orders of the Exports segment are also lucrative as they come with a better margin profile and cashflows. Going forward, we expect the tendering activity to pick up and increase the pace of execution.” 

BigBloc Construction – The company has announced that it has entered into a joint-venture agreement with SCG International India Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Siam Cement Public Company Limited (or "SCG”) under cement-building materials business, to engage in the production and sale of lightweight concrete panels and blocks with the total capacity of approximately 2.6 million square meters in Gujarat.

The company will hold a 52 per cent equity stake in the joint venture, while the remaining 48 per cent stake will be held by SCG INTL INDIA. The total value of this project is Rs 89.1 crore. Plant construction is expected to be complete within one year, followed by commercial runs.

52-week High Stocks – Pearl Polymers, Rajshree Polypack, Bhartiya International, Expleo Solutions, Total Transport Systems and Agro Phos India made a fresh 52-week high today. These small-cap stocks are likely to be in focus on Thursday, December 16, 2021.
