Overnight Digest: These small caps will be in focus on Thursday

Marshall Machines, Elgi Equipments, Kabra Extrusion Technik, SBC Exports, Sharda Motor Industries and Onward Technologies made a fresh 52-week high today.

On Wednesday, at 2:40 PM headline indices Nifty and Sensex are trading flat marginally down by 0.02 per cent and 0.09 per cent respectively. Nifty Bank index is outperforming broader markets by trading with gains of more than 0.80 per cent. BSE Small-cap index is also up by 0.86 per cent i.e. 245.44 points.  

The following small-cap and mid-cap stocks are likely to be in focus on Thursday:   

BLS International - The company’s subsidiary, Starfin India Pvt. Ltd. has been empanelled by two banks - Punjab National Bank and Central Bank of India to support the financial inclusion mission of the Government of India. The company has become the official Corporate Business Correspondent (BC) to deliver last-mile banking services in rural, semi-urban, urban, and metro areas across India. Initially, the company will roll out over 700 centres on behalf of the Central Bank of India while the number of banking centres is awaited from Punjab National Bank. 

Effective immediately, Starfin will initiate more than 30 banking services like enrolment of customers, debit cards, balance enquiry, statement of accounts, passbook printing, money deposit, and bills or utility payment services to account holders of both banks across India. The company will also provide micro-insurance, mutual fund products, pension products and other third-party products through these customer service points. 

Thermax – The company has recently announced that it has secured an order of Rs 830 crore from an Indian power private sector company to set up flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) systems for their three units of 660 MW capacity each in the state of Uttar Pradesh. 

The FGD systems will be installed at their plant to cut down SOx emissions and comply with the air quality standards set for fossil fuel-based power plants. The scope of supply includes design, engineering, manufacturing, civil work, construction and commissioning of the FGD systems. The project is slated to be completed in 36 months.
