Overnight Digest: These small caps will be in focus on Monday

Weizmann, Mahalaxmi Rubtech, Speciality Restaurants, South West Pinnacle Exploration, Vaishali Pharma, Focus Lighting and Fixtures, SEL Manufacturing and D B Realty made a fresh 52-week high today.  

On Friday, Indian equity markets witnessed heavy a sell-off on account of weak global cues. Headline indices Nifty 50 and Sensex plunged 1.31 per cent each, ending the last trading session of the week at 17,374.80 and 58,152.92 respectively. BSE Small-cap index also closed in the red territory at 28,691.82, recording losses of 1.90 per cent.    

The following small-cap stocks are likely to be in focus on Monday, February 14, 2022:  

Prakash Pipes – During the quarter ended December 31, 2021, the company has net sales of Rs 143 crore and EBITDA of Rs 19 crore, reflecting growth of 12 per cent and 20 per cent, respectively over the corresponding quarter of last financial year. Profit after tax for the quarter also grew by 15 per cent on a YoY basis to Rs 11 crore. 

The company’s flexible packaging division achieved its highest ever sales volume of -3,000 MT during the quarter, registering a growth of 84 per cent on a YoY basis at the back of strong demand and increasing customer base in the both domestic and international market. 

Garware Hi-Tech Films – The company has announced its unaudited financial results for the quarter that ended on December 31, 2021. Net profit of the company rose by 0.26 per cent to Rs 42.89 crore in the Q3FY22 as against Rs 42.78 crore during the previous quarter ended December 2020. In other business updates, erection work for the company’s new lamination line has commenced and the company expects production by Q1FY23. 

The third quarter’s performance is in line with the company’s projections despite certain disruptions due to Omicron. Their exports continue to witness strong growth. The outlook for the rest of the year continues to remain promising.
