Overnight Digest: These small caps will be in focus on Monday

On Friday, headline indices Nifty 50 and Sensex climbed 0.38 per cent and 0.24 per cent to end the trading session at 17,812.70 and 59,744.65 respectively. BSE Small-cap index relatively outperformed broader markets by recording gains of 0.43 per cent i.e. 127.36, closing the last trading day of the week at 30,032.14. 

The following small-cap stocks are likely to be in focus on Monday:  

Tata Steel Long Products – The company has released Q3FY22 key production and delivery volumes (provisional). Crude steel production grew by 12 per cent on a YoY basis and total deliveries increased by 6 per cent YoY on the back of a continued economic recovery in 9MFY22. During Q3FY22, crude steel production and deliveries were marginally lower by 2 per cent QoQ due to maintenance shutdown. Continued focus on mix enrichment has resulted in the highest ever SBQ (Special bar quality) sales of 87KT in Q3FY22 and alloy wire rod sales witnessed a growth of around 12 per cent on a QoQ basis. 

KEC International – The company has announced that it has secured new orders worth Rs 1,025 crore across its various businesses: 

  • Transmission & Distribution (T&D): The business has secured orders for T&D projects in India and the Middle East (400 kV Transmission line and 400/220 kV substation order in India, from a leading private developer under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route & 380 kV Transmission line order from Saudi Electricity Company (SEC)) 
  • Railways: The business has secured an order for 2 x 25 kV Overhead Electrification (OHE) and associated works for speed upgradation in India. 
  • Civil: The business has secured an order for infra works in the metals & mining segment in India. 
  • Oil & Gas Pipelines: The business has secured an order for laying a slurry pipeline and associated works in India. 
  • Smart Infra: The business has secured an order as Master System Integrator (MSI) for Smart City Components for three smart cities in India. 
  • Cables: The business has secured orders for various types of cables in India and overseas. 

52-week High Stocks –AYM Syntex, Dollar Industries, Salzer Electronics, KPIT Technologies, Arihant Capital Markets, Asahi India Glass, Ginni Filaments, Allied Digital Services and Gokaldas Exports made a fresh 52-week high today.  

These small-cap stocks will likely be in focus on Monday, January 10, 2022.
