Overnight Digest: Stocks to watch out on September 14
The domestic benchmark indices ended the day in the red zone. Sensex closed 127 points, or 0.22 per cent, lower at 58,177.76 while the Nifty ended the day at 17,355.30, down 14 points, or 0.08 per cent. Mid and small-cap stocks outperformed their frontline peers backed by sectoral indices ending in green for the third consecutive session. The BSE Midcap index closed 0.32 per cent higher while the small-cap index settled with a gain of 0.80 per cent.
Following stocks are likely to be in focus on Tuesday:
Metal Stocks - The metal stocks have witnessed a rally in Monday's trading session. Outperforming the Sensex which has dipped by 0.22 per cent , the BSE Metal index zoomed by 1.47 per cent on Monday. The top performing stocks within the metal index were Coal India, Hindalco, Vedanta, Hindustan Zinc and Tata Steel. Keep a watch on metal stocks for Tuesday's trading session.
52-week high stocks - Bharati Airtel and HCL Technologies have made fresh 52-week high on Monday. Bharati Airtel was up by 0.78 per cent whereas HCL Tech was up by 0.85 per cent. Keep a watch on these stocks for Tuesday.
Adani Transmission - The market capitalization of Adani Transmission has crossed the mark of Rs 2 trillion on Monday. The stock was up 3.43 per cent at the close of Monday's trading session. Keep a watch on this stock for Tuesday's trading session.
Telecom Stocks - The telecom stocks are likely to be on the investor's radar as the telecom department may approve proposals worth Rs 3,245 crore w.r.t telecom equipment PLI coming week. The BSE Telecom index has ended in green on Monday and is up by 0.71 per cent. The telecom stocks are likely to be on the watchlist for Tuesday.
New India Assurance Company - On Monday, the stock has formed a long green candle on the charts with a decent spurt in volumes. It has closed above the 20-and 30-day moving averages. After hitting a low price on August 20, 2021, the stock has recovered 23.66 per cent till September 13, 2021. The stock was up by 5.18 per cent in Monday's trading session. It is likely to be in focus for Tuesday.
