Indian benchmark indices started the week lower, following gloomy cues from the Asian markets. With the exception of BSE Telecommunications, which surprised investors by posting gains of 0.71 per cent in a down market, all the sectors were trading lower.
The BSE Sensex plunged 0.84 per cent to 61,144 level at the close. The Nifty 50 index declined 0.81 per cent to a level of 18,159.

Oil & Natural Gas Corporation - The shares of the country's largest oil and gas company were trading ex-dividend today, a day before the record date for an extraordinary 135 per cent interim dividend (Rs 6.75 per share with a face value of Rs 5). After swinging between marginal gains and losses, shares of ONGC managed to close 0.33 per cent higher.
Bharti Airtel - Following the announcement of the launch of its cutting edge 5G services in Guwahati - Gateway to North East India, shares of Bharti Airtel, the top Sensex gainer today, closed 1.7 per cent higher in a lackluster market. Customers will be able to access Airtel 5G Plus services in phases as the business builds up its network and completes the roll out.
Lupin Ltd - The pharmaceutical business announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Rajasthan to address the prevalence of Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in Rajasthan's Alwar district. On an intraday basis, shares of Lupin finished the session 0.07 per cent lower.
