Watch out for these large-cap stocks in Tuesday’s trading session!
While significant gains in information technology and telecommunications stocks tried to boost indices, power, utilities and oil & gas sector stocks continued to bear the brunt of the losses. The Indian headline indices witnessed a closing rally and finished higher. The BSE Sensex gained 0.29 per cent to 59,500 level at the close. The Nifty 50 index advanced 0.25 per cent to a level of 17,648.

GAIL (India) Ltd - As the company reported a more than 90 per cent decline in net profit year-on-year, shares of the gas transmission company plunged heavily and closed the session over 4 per cent lower. Shares of Adani Total Gas, the worst performer on the BSE Oil & Gas index today, were locked at a 20 per cent lower circuit.
Bajaj Finance - Due to its strong quarter performance, shares of non-banking financial company (NBFC) soared over 4 per cent in an otherwise dismal market, becoming the top Sensex gainer. Today's Sensex rally was mostly driven by shares of Bajaj Finance and Bajaj Finserv.
Adani Green Energy - Due to the tensions caused by the Hindenburg report, shares of Adani Green Energy kept falling. Being the top loser in the BSE Power index today, shares were locked at a 20 per cent lower circuit and slumped more than 40 per cent in the past five trading sessions.
