While technology sector stocks were the market draggers, significant gains in auto, FMCG and power sectors helped to boost Indian benchmark indices. The BSE Sensex surged 0.76 per cent to 61,806 level at the close. The Nifty 50 index gained 0.83 per cent to a level of 18,420.

UPL Ltd - The company announced the completion of a Rs 2,474 crore investment by KKR for a 13.33 per cent stake in Advanta Enterprises. This is part of a larger corporate realignment effort to establish four distinct business platforms - Global Crop Protection, India Agtech, Global Seeds and Manufacturing & Specialty Chemicals in order to maximise the growth potential of each of these platforms.
The Phoenix Mills Ltd - The business announced that it has successfully acquired a prime city-centric land parcel in Surat (Gujarat), measuring around 7.22 acres, for a total consideration of about Rs 510 crore, in order to build a premium retail destination. Shares finished the session flat.
Bharti Airtel - The launch of a telecom company's cutting-edge 5G services in Shimla was announced today. Customer access to Airtel 5G Plus services will be phased in as the company builds up its network and completes the roll out. Shares surged and finished the session 2.31 per cent higher.
