Although the Indian benchmark indices traded lower throughout the session, a closing rally helped to end the session marginally higher. The BSE Sensex edged up by 0.06 per cent to 60,431 level at the close. The Nifty 50 index edged up by 0.08 per cent to a level of 17,828. The BSE Information Technology sector had the worst performance, losing more than 2 per cent, while the strong gains in banking and real estate stocks surprised investors in an otherwise weak market.

Infosys Ltd - For the quarter ended in March 2023, the company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 6,128 crore, a growth of 8 per cent year-on-year. However, the company's bottom line and top line fell short of analysts' expectations. For the financial year ended in March, the board has approved a final dividend of Rs 17.50 per share.
IndusInd Bank - Shares of IndusInd Bank experienced the heavy buying pressure and ended the session more than 3 per cent higher, making them the top Sensex gainer. BSE Bankex emerged as the top gaining sector, led by a more than 17 per cent rally in AU Small Finance Bank.
Bharat Heavy Electricals - BHEL-TWL (BHEL-Titagarh Wagons Ltd) consortium has been awarded an order for 80 Vande Bharat trains in one of the biggest railway tenders for manufacturing cum maintenance of Vande Bharat trains. Shares ended the session 0.24 per cent higher.
