Overnight Digest: Keep these stocks on your radar for December 30
On Wednesday, after recording gains in the last two trading sessions, the market witnessed selective profit taking in metals and PSU stocks, which dragged the benchmark indices.
At close, the Sensex was down 90.99 points or 0.16 per cent at 57,806.49 level, and the Nifty was down 19.70 points or 0.11 per cent at 17,213.60 level.Eicher Motors, Sun Pharma, Bajaj Auto, IndusInd Bank and Divis Labs were among the top Nifty gainers. Losers included ITC, SBI, Coal India, Tech Mahindra and Grasim Industries.
On the sectoral front, the metal, bank, energy, power names witnessed selling, while buying was seen in the auto and pharma names. In the broader markets, the BSE midcap and smallcap indices ended with marginal gains.

Bajaj Auto - Bajaj Auto is planning to invest Rs 300 crore to build capacity for 5 lakh EVs per annum. It has announced a new electric vehicle manufacturing unit at Akurdi. The first electric vehicle to roll out from the new facility by June 2022 for India and also for exports.
BASF India - The stock has been on a buzz and has grown 6.5 per cent in Wednesday's trading session. The company was informed by BASF SE, Germany (Ultimate Holding Company of BASF India Ltd) that BASF has reached an agreement to divest its manufacturing site in Quincy, Florida and the associated attapulgite business for a purchase price of USD 60 million to Clariant. The transaction is expected to close in 2022, subject to the approval of the relevant Competition Commission/Anti-trust Authorities.
Healthcare stocks - BSE Healthcare index has zoomed 1.71 per cent in Wednesday's trading session, outperforming the benchmark indices and peer sectoral indices. Nureca, Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company, Syncom Formulations, Venus Remedies and Thyrocare Technologies were the top gaining stocks within the index. Keep a watch on these stocks for Thursday's trading session.
52-week high stocks - ESAB India, Escorts, Metropolis Healthcare, Minda Industries, Radico Khaitan, Schaeffler India, Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences and Vardhman Textiles made fresh 52-week highs on Wednesday.
