Opening spotlight: These three stocks gained the most in the pre-opening session today
The rally in two of the three stocks came on the back of robust Q4 results.
In the last trading session of the week, the bulls took over the markets with their might. To put it in perspective, in the last two weeks, or say in nine trading sessions, the index slumped over 7 per cent.
At the pre-opening bell today, S&P BSE Sensex opened at a gain of 1.05 per cent, and by 9.15 am, it had risen by 1.20 per cent to the level of 53,565.74.
Around the same time, S&P BSE Midcap was up by 1.07 per cent while S&P BSE Smallcap zoomed 0.75 per cent. The sectoral indices too depicted an upward trajectory, with metals climbing 0.99 per cent, power inching higher by 1.63 per cent, and energy surging 1.45 per cent.
Riding this bullish wave, Welspun Enterprises, Matrimony.com, and Finolex Cables gained the most in the pre-opening session today.
Welspun Enterprises Ltd, an S&P BSE Smallcap company, surged 15.83 per cent on the bourses and was trading at Rs 82.70 apiece. This rally comes after the company posted its results for the quarter and year ended March 31, 2022. On a sequential basis, the company’s consolidated topline grew by 88.5 per cent while the bottom line grew by 402 per cent during the same period.
Matrimony.com Ltd, another S&P BSE Smallcap company, rallied 11.90 per cent to trade at Rs 746 apiece. The company posted its results for the quarter and year ended March 31, 2022, on Thursday after the market hours. On a consolidated basis, its revenue grew 9.4 per cent YoY while PAT increased by 15.5 per cent YoY.
At the same time, the shares of Finolex Cables Ltd, an S&P BSE 500 company, soared 10.79 per cent to Rs 403.60.
