Opening spotlight: These small-cap stocks rallied on the bourses amid bleeding markets!
One of these companies is set to announce its Q4 results today.
No relief seems to be in sight for the markets, which are undergoing a phase of volatility. After a drawdown of about 277 points in the previous session, S&P BSE Sensex opened in the green, registering a gain of nearly 30 points at the pre-opening bell today. However, it couldn’t last long as the index declined 0.89 per cent by 9.15 am.
Around the same time, both S&P BSE Midcap and S&P BSE Smallcap tumbled 0.42 per cent & 0.38 per cent, respectively. Amid the sectoral indices, energy fell 0.35 per cent, metals declined 0.92 per cent and power took a hit of 0.14 per cent.
Meanwhile, Ingersoll Rand (India), Valiant Organics, and Jammu & Kashmir Bank showcased a rally on the bourses.
Ingersoll Rand (India) Ltd, an S&P BSE Smallcap company, jumped 10.18 per cent on the bourses and was trading at Rs 1,644.80.
Valiant Organics, another S&P BSE Smallcap company, surged 9.53 per cent to Rs 832.
Jammu & Kashmir Bank, also a part of S&P BSE Smallcap index, zoomed 6.58 per cent to Rs 31.50. This rally comes ahead of the bank’s results for the quarter and financial year ended March 31, 2022, which are set to be announced today.
