Opening Bell: Benchmark indices trading with strong gains amid positive global cues

The BSE Sensex is trading at 56,624 up by 847 points.

Asian markets were trading higher on Wednesday, though markets in mainland China struggled to recover amid the covid reappearance in Wuhan. The US stocks soared on Tuesday as oil prices drop further below USD 100 in hopes of an end to the conflict in Ukraine. Also, traders continued to eye the latest with ceasefire negotiations in Ukraine. The Foreign portfolio investors sold shares worth Rs 1,249.74 crore, while domestic institutional investors were net buyers of Rs 98.25 crore only in the Indian equity market on March 15. 

The BSE Sensex is trading at 56,624 up by 847 points. Following it the BSE MidCap has is opened gap up at 23,427 gaining by 272 points. The BSE SmallCap is also trading in green today morning at 27,319 rising by 332 points. The top gaining stocks on the BSE Sensex are Induslnd Bank, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finserv, HDFC, and Kotak Bank. The stocks that are trading in red this morning are Sun Pharmaceuticals. 

Also, the Nifty 50 index has followed the upward trend at 16,925 up by 262 points. Bank Nifty also shot up this morning by 725 points and is trading at 35,747 levels. The stocks trading positive on Nifty 50 index are HDFC, Axis Bank, Induslnd Bank, Grasim Industries, and Bajaj Finserv. The stocks in negative are Cipla, Tata Motors, ONGC, and Sun Pharmaceuticals.  

There are 3025 stocks that have advanced and 2324 stocks that have declined in the morning session, 205 stocks are locked up in the upper circuit and 126 stocks are locked in the lower circuit today.
