NTPC set to operate Lara Super Thermal Power Station
The Government of India enterprise, NTPC Ltd, informed in a press release on Friday that it will start commercial operations at its Lara super thermal station on September 30, 2019.
The company said NTPC is all set to start commercial operation of Unit-1 of 800 MW of Lara Super Thermal Power Station (2 x 800 MW) with effective from September 30, 2019. With this, the commercial capacity of Lara Super Thermal Power Station, NTPC and NTPC group will become 800 MW, 47325 MW and 55786 MW respectively. It further added that it has done all the necessary plans and has got approvals regarding the start of the plant.
Earlier this month, the company had informed about operational start of the Nabinagar Thermal Power plant which is its wholly owned subsidiary. The new facility is of 660 MW total capacity.
NTPC is country’s largest power utility company. It operates in diversified sectors such as Coal, Gas, Solar PV, Hydro and Wind Power Generation and Coal Mining etc.
On Friday, the shares of NTPC opened at Rs. 117.90 against previous close of Rs. 116.65. The stock touched its intraday high of Rs. 119.10 and low of Rs. 116.35. At 13.50 hours, the stock traded at Rs. 117.55, higher by 0.77 per cent on BSE.
